Temi Adeniji (born in 1990), is the newly appointed Managing Director of Warner Music South Africa and Senior Vice President of Strategy for Sub-Saharan Africa.

Adeniji will take up her new role for Warner in September, reporting to Alfonso Perez-Soto, EVP, Eastern Europe, Middle East, India and Africa and collaborating with Simon Robson, President, International Recorded Music on a number of international projects.

Adeniji joined Warner Music in 2016 as Director, International Strategy & Operations.

Originally from Nigeria, Adeniji holds a degree in political science from Princeton University(2005 – 2009), a law degree from Columbia Law School(2009- 2012) and a Masters of Law from University College London in the UK(2011 – 2012).

While in Princeton University, she worked as an Intern at  Daimlerchrysler Bank (June 2006 – August 2006). Afterwards she served as a summer fellow for  African Bar Foundation (June 2007 – August 2007). From (June 2008- August 2008), she worked as a Summer Associate at Chadbourne & Parke LLP. Teni went on to serve as an Intern again at Oppenhooff and Partner Rechtsanwälte (August 2008 – September 2008).

During the time of getting her Law degree from Columbia Law School, she  worked as a Summer Associate at Baker Bolts LLP(May 2010-July 2010) and afterwards got her Masters Degree form University College of London.

Right after her Masters Degree program,Teni worked as an Associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP (September 2012 – February 2015), Associate at Kirkland and Ellis LLP(February 2015 – July 2016).

Despite being in the job relating to her career, three years in, Temi realized this wasn’t her passion and began to work towards her passion.

In 2016, she came  across a Warner Music Group job posting for director of international and global commercial strategy and operations — even though it was not an obvious fit for her career, but being a lover of music, she applied with her husband’s encouragement  and she got the job.

In 2016, she became the Director, International Strategy and Operations (July 2016- May 2019).

Afterwards she emerged as VP International Strategy and Operations (May 2019-September 2020),Soon enough she was appointed as the SVP International Strategy and Operations (September 2020- present).

In August  2020,Teni Adeniji became a Board member of the AFRICORI  the go-to hub for independentAfrican artists and labels from across the continent and in the Diaspora.

AFRICORI is the  largest digital music distribution company in Sub-Saharan Africa, and has worked withboth major and independent record labels, with offices in Johannesburg, London and Lagos, the companyhas worked with more than 6,500 artists and 700 labels, and lays claim to the No.1 market share in anumber of African countries.

Recently, she was appointed as the Managing Director of Warner Music Group.

Adeniji, 31, who is based in New York, has most recently helped the label group intensify its focus on emerging markets, arranging a partnerships launching Warner Music Middle East. 

As Warner Music continues to expand in Africa, building upon Adeniji’s work with Perez-Soto to develop the company’s presence in the region through key deals with regional labels and distributors.. This includes landmark licensing deals and partnership with African digital music services , Audiomack and Boomplay, a partnership with Chocolate City, one of the top independent record labels in Nigeria, and an investment in digital distribution, music rights management, and artist development company.
